Celebrate Green Diwali !!

Diwali is one of the most awaited festival, for Indians around the world. The, conventional way to celebrate it by lighting our homes with earthen pots, more specifically Diyas was always fine, but the major fireworks later, always had great impact on our environment. We, all can understand this, some people simply ignore this point, by saying "It comes only once in a year. So, hardly any harm !!"

But, the truth to this is that harm to environment does happen. When, we say Environment, then we are indeed referring to our Ecosystem, and its inhabitants. So, we have many living beings around us, which specifically on this day, are lost somewhere due to fear of crackers noise. It's a simple understanding by us for them, that smaller they are from us, more sensitive their hearing powers are. Therefore, because of sensitivity, we can not doubt about the harm these fireworks does to them.
Found, this image on Google, thought it was worth sharing:

This, year Diwali is on 03/11/2013. So, we should try to avoid the fireworks, should celebrate Green Diwali, as the word is spreading, if someone cannot stop himself from firing crackers, there are so many Virtual ways to fire them :-) many softwares are there and most importantly be compassionate towards other living beings.
